Most statewide county DMV offices closed due to computer issues

If you had plans to go to your county DMV today you probably want to make other plans.

The Idaho Transportation Department said Tuesday that it has closed the driver's license offices across Idaho (except Canyon and Ada counties).

It's unclear when the DMV offices will be reopened.

“We apologize for the inconvenience and ask for the public’s patience as we work towards finding a solution,” said DMV Administrator Alberto Gonzalez. “ITD is devoting all available technology resources towards investigating the root of this problem. The department is working hand in hand with its driver's license vendor, Gemalto, in this effort."

If you are in Ada or Canyon county and still plan to make a visit to renew your license, ITD is asking folks to avoid if possible as there will be long wait times.
