The video garnered about 244,200 plays and 45,20 likes over the course of 17 months.

On May 28, 2021, @willuzi uploaded another video which he captioned: “Alpha transformation 🐺🔞.” The video did better than the previous one, gaining  4.1 million plays and 817,800 likes in 17 months.

Following @willuzi’s successful alpha wolf meme videos, other TikTokers began to post theirs. This time, they often referenced the Emo Wolf memes.

Recall that TikTok became a popular social media platform during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. During this period, the whole world was on lockdown, meaning people were forced to sit in their homes.
